The Museum am Rothenbaum, Kulturen und Künste der Welt (MARKK) is committed to making its online shop accessible in accordance with the Hamburg Disability Equality Act (Hamburgisches Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz, HmbBGG). This statement applies to MARKK's online shop for admission tickets, events and catalogues.
Compliance status
The online shop is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA, on which the European standard EN 301 549 is based. The limitations are listed in the next section.
Non-accessible content
- English version: exhibition and event texts, ticket names and catalogue descriptions are currently available in German only. They appear in German on the English pages too, without being marked as German, so screen readers read them out with English pronunciation.
- Images of exhibitions, events and catalogues are marked as decorative and are not described. Titles, dates and prices are given as text next to them.
- Payment takes place on the pages of the payment providers. Their accessibility is outside MARKK's control.

Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 17 September 2026. It is based on a self-assessment: with every change, the online shop is checked automatically against the WCAG requirements of levels A and AA, for keyboard operation, for display at a width of 320 pixels (equivalent to 400 percent zoom) and for display with increased line, word and letter spacing.
